SEND Recruitment

At Learning in Harmony, we are always looking for practitioners with a passion for working with children and young people with SEND.   We have many opportunities for professionals to join our Trust schools in a variety of roles, including at JFK and Connaught Special School in Newham, and in our specialist provisions in Southend.

We are proud of the highly personalised curriculum provision in place across our specialist provisions, and the impact it has on our pupils’ learning and development.  Our staff are passionate about this, and we hope that you will be too.

In addition to putting the needs of every child at the heart of our specialist provisions, the Trust ensures that staff enjoy excellent benefits and a commitment to their own individual learning requirements, driven by our belief that our staff are our most valuable resource.

We have strong, shared values across our mainstream and specialist schools and this drives a culture of support and collaboration that helps us secure the best possible outcomes for all students, and ultimately deliver on our mission to create a positive impact on society and offer a life-changing experience for our pupils.

We are very keen to hear from you if you feel that you share our values.

About JFK Special School…

JFK Special School is an outstanding,  innovative multi-site special school in Newham, East London. Our established sites at Plaistow, Stratford, North Woolwich and Beckton offer students aged between 4-19 who have Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and young people with autism who also have significant learning disabilities, a stimulating environment where they can be safe and enjoy learning surrounded by a dedicated team of staff.  We are delighted to be broadening our provision by expanding our Beckton site with new internal classrooms created for September 2023 and a new purpose-built block, scheduled for completion in September 2024.

About Connaught Special School…

Connaught Special School officially opens in September 2023, operating from a temporary site at Upton Cross Primary School on Kirton Road until it moves to its permanent residence on Royal Road.  This brand-new, purpose-built facility will have the capacity to serve up to 105 pupils, aged 5-19, and will be a designated school to support children with autistic spectrum conditions, providing children with the most complex needs a first-class learning environment to support their education.

Our Autism Resource Bases…

In the city of Southend-on-Sea, we have 12-place Autism Resource Bases (ARBs) on the site of three of our mainstream primary schools: Blenheim; Temple Sutton; and Greenways.  In addition, we run specialist classes across most of our mainstream provisions in London and Southend.  Each base is an integral part of the local offer at our primary schools, and supports pupils from the community with autistic spectrum conditions and other SEND needs.
